Mentoring at StartupWeekend… and Then Teaching There

I had a great time mentoring at NYC’s recent StartupWeekend. This was the first StartupWeekend I ever attended, but it made me think that the teams I saw would have looked very different a couple years ago when I was getting started.

First, there was a good mix of people: developers, UX, design, marketing, business all making it happen.

Then, there was a stronger feeling for the importance of making something people would want than I think you would have seen in the past. People also got out of the building to learn about their potential users.

StartupWeekend also asked me to teach a series for them based on what I’ve already been doing at Startups Unplugged. They call it SW Next. You can learn a bit more about the upcoming NYC session here.
